Keansburg High School

Keansburg High School is a four-year community public high school serving students in grades nine through twelve from Keansburg, Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States, operating as part of the Keansburg School District. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Secondary Schools since 1991.

As of the 2010-11 school year, the school had an enrollment of 391 students and 34.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.33:1. There were 177 students (45.3% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 48 (12.3% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

KHS is located at 140 Port Monmouth Road. However, the school itself cannot be seen from Port Monmouth Road. The school is accessed via Titan Trail (the entrance road) into the parking lot. It is adjacent to Port Monmouth Road Elementary School (which should not be confused with Port Monmouth Elementary School in Port Monmouth), which was built well after the high school. One part of Port Monmouth Road Elementary School, once referred to as the "C-Wing," is slated to be returned for use for the high school following reconstruction. The reconstruction plans also plan to change the existing structure of the school district.

Famous quotes containing the words high school, high and/or school:

    When I was in high school I thought a vocation was a particular calling. Here’s a voice: “Come, follow me.” My idea of a calling now is not: “Come.” It’s like what I’m doing right now, not what I’m going to be. Life is a calling.
    Rebecca Sweeney (b. 1938)

    Sweetest Lord, make me appreciative of the dignity of my high vocation, and its many responsibilities. Never permit me to disgrace it by giving way to coldness, unkindness, or impatience.
    Mother Teresa (b. 1910)

    Mary had a little lamb,
    Its fleece was white as snow,
    And every where that Mary went
    The lamb was sure to go;
    He followed her to school one day—
    That was against the rule,
    It made the children laugh and play,
    To see a lamb at school.
    Sarah Josepha Buell Hale (1788–1879)
