Flight Control Features
JSBSim allows a flight control system or autopilot to be constructed from individual components. The suite now includes: filters, conditional switch, summer, sensor, and gain (variable and static) components. Additionally, there is a function component that can be defined by the user.
A sample flight control system block diagram is seen below in the flight control system editor for the separate open source project, JSBSim Commander (currently in the early stages of development, but functional).

Famous quotes containing the words flight, control and/or features:
“it pleaseth me when I see through the meadows
The tents and pavilions set up, and great joy have I
When I see oer the campana knights armed and horses arrayed.
And it pleaseth me when the scouts set in flight the folk with
their goods;
And it pleaseth me when I see coming together after them an host of
armed men.”
—Bertrans De Born (fl. 12th century)
“Playing at make-believe, the young child becomes the all-powerful person he cannot be in reality. In pretending, the child takes control of his otherwise powerless position.”
—Joanne E. Oppenheim (20th century)
“All visible objects, man, are but as pasteboard masks. But in each eventin the living act, the undoubted deedthere, some unknown but still reasoning thing puts forth the mouldings of its features from behind the unreasoning mask. If man will strike, strike through the mask!”
—Herman Melville (18191891)
