Family
In 1966, Giles married Anne with whom he had four sons and two daughters. Two of his sons, Michael and Chris, played for Shamrock Rovers; Michael from 1981 to 1983 and Chris from 1993 to 1995. Giles' father, Christy Giles, played for Bohemians in the 1920s and won a league title in his first season at Dalymount Park. Giles is a brother-in-law of Nobby Stiles, his former Manchester United team-mate, who married into the Giles family.
