Trials With Real Salt Lake
Sahdan underwent a successful trial with the American MLS club Real Salt Lake in Miami, Florida from 14 to 24 Feb 2008; scoring two goals in four starts. The Home United striker is then invited to join Real Salt Lake on their two weeks pre-season tour to Rosario, Argentina, beginning on 1 March, for three exhibition matches. This invitation comes in view of the MLS side offering Indra a contract for the upcoming season, however Ingra suffered with a knee injury in Argentina, which proved costly.
Prior to the trip to Argentina Sahdan's friend, Dave Roberts, who helped arrange the trial was quoted to describe Indra's chances of getting the contract as "very good", after his conversation with the club's general manager, Garth Lagerway. If the transfer went through, Sahdan would have become Singapore's only third footballer to be playing outside of Asia, following Fandi Ahmad and V. Sundramoorthy. However, Sahdan was not offered a contract by RSL coach Jason Kreis.
Sahdan had trials with two Vietnam League clubs and one First Division club. He returned to Singapore on 4 January 2009, in view of securing a contract in Vietnam. Speculations have been made that Sahdan would not be signing with any S-League teams for 2009 season, and he might head to Hyundai A-League for 2009. He is supposed to join the national team on 5 January for the centralised training before the Asian Cup Qualifiers against IRAN.

Famous quotes containing the words trials, real, salt and/or lake:
“It is time to provide a smashing answer for those cynical men who say that a democracy cannot be honest, cannot be efficient.... We have in the darkest moments of our national trials retained our faith in our own ability to master our own destiny.”
—Franklin D. Roosevelt (18821945)
“When I read of the vain discussions of the present day about the Virgin Birth and other old dogmas which belong to the past, I feel how great the need is still of a real interest in the religion which builds up character, teaches brotherly love, and opens up to the seeker such a world of usefulness and the beauty of holiness.”
—Olympia Brown (18351900)
“The indispensable ingredient of any game worth its salt is that the children themselves play it and, if not its sole authors, share in its creation. Watching TVs ersatz battles is not the same thing at all. Children act out their emotions, they dont talk them out and they dont watch them out. Their imagination and their muscles need each other.”
—Leontine Young (20th century)
“Such were the first rude beginnings of a town. They spoke of the practicability of a winter road to the Moosehead Carry, which would not cost much, and would connect them with steam and staging and all the busy world. I almost doubted if the lake would be there, the self-same lake, preserve its form and identity, when the shores should be cleared and settled; as if these lakes and streams which explorers report never awaited the advent of the citizen.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
