Death
After being arrested at a military checkpoint on April 17, 1945, she was interrogated and sentenced to death. After the first volley from a machine pistol, which wounded her, she allegedly cried out "Ik schiet beter!", or in English, I could shoot better. She was buried in a shallow grave, and some of her distinctive hair was visible after the burial protruding from the dirt.
