Lebanese Renewal Party
The Lebanese Renewal Party – LRP (Arabic: Hezb al-Tajaddud al-Lubnaniyya) or Parti de la Renovation Libanaise (PRL) in French, is a banned political party in Lebanon formed in 1972 as the political arm of the paramilitary force known as the Guardians of the Cedars. It is often characterized as right-wing extremist, but by its followers as a patriotic nationalist movement. The party is still led by its founder, Étienne Saqr (Abu Arz).

Famous quotes containing the words renewal and/or party:
“We sing the funeral, as goes the custom, with the hymn of the Dead. But Manuel, he chose a hymn for the living: the song of the coumbite, the song of the earth, of the water, the plants, of fellowship between peasants because he wanted, as I now understand it, that his death for you be the renewal of life.”
—Jacques Roumain (19071945)
“A baby changes your dinner party conversation from politics to poops.”
—Maurice Johnstone (20th century)
