She also wrote an appreciation to the catalogue The World of Balenciaga held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 1973.

“That isnt writing at all, its typing.”
—Truman Capote (19241984)
“I have spent so long erecting partitions around the part of me that writeslearning how to close the door on it when ordinary life intervenes, how to close the door on ordinary life when its time to start writing againthat Im not sure I could fit the two parts of me back together now.”
—Anne Tyler (b. 1941)
“There is a difference between dramatizing your sensibility and your personality. The literary works which we think of as classics did the former. Much modern writing does the latter, and so has an affinity with, say, night-club acts in all their shoddy immediacy.”
—Paul Horgan (b. 1904)
