Gideon (comics) - Powers and Abilities

Powers and Abilities

Gideon is a mutant who has the ability to temporarily endow himself with superhuman abilities by replicating the superhuman energy signatures and genetic templates of superhuman beings. Apparently, he can duplicate even the superhuman capabilities of robots. He has the ability to mimic any nearby skill, talent, or power possessed by a person or mechanical being (such as an android or a battle suit) and then to reapply or redirect that ability back to the attacker. Gideon presumably psionically scans the genetic makeup of superhuman beings in order to duplicate their superhuman abilities within himself.

Gideon was an External, meaning his aging process is greatly retarded and that he can apparently regenerate injured or missing cells from even near-fatal injuries. He was granted with limited immortality, only ended by an extremely mortal wound such as decapitation, by the Legacy Virus (two Externals died by this method) or, in the case of his death, by a draining of the life energies.

Gideon is an extraordinary business strategist.

He wears body armor, and has access to androids, advanced vehicles, and other advanced technology developed by Ophrah Industries.

Famous quotes containing the words powers and/or abilities:

Whenever any form of government shall become destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, & to institute new government, laying it’s foundation on such principles & organising it’s powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety & happiness.
    Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)

We may not pay Satan reverence, for that would be indiscreet, but we can at least respect his talents. A person who has for untold centuries maintained the imposing position of spiritual head of four-fifths of the human race, and political head of the whole of it, must be granted the possession of executive abilities of the loftiest order.
Mark Twain [Samuel Langhorne Clemens] (1835–1910)
