Famous quotes containing the words free, presbyterian and/or church:

    You’re the emblem of
    The land I love,
The home of the free and the brave.
    George M. Cohan (1878–1942)

What I often forget about students, especially undergraduates, is that surface appearances are misleading. Most of them are at base as conventional as Presbyterian deacons.
    Muriel Beadle (b. 1915)

Combativeness was, I suppose, the dominant trait in my grandmother’s nature. Mary McCarthy (1912–1989)
