FK Inter Bratislava - History

History

Inter Bratislava was founded in 1940 by the Apollo refinery which was later renamed Slovnaft. Inter established itself as one of the strongest teams in the Czechoslovakian league a tradition which has been carried on into the independent state of Slovakia. In 1976, Inter sent one player to the triumphant European championship winning side in the former Yugoslavia, Ladislav Jurkemik. In more recent time Inter was able to complete the Slovakian double by winning both cup and league championship in 2001.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

It is true that this man was nothing but an elemental force in motion, directed and rendered more effective by extreme cunning and by a relentless tactical clairvoyance .... Hitler was history in its purest form.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)

It may be well to remember that the highest level of moral aspiration recorded in history was reached by a few ancient Jews—Micah, Isaiah, and the rest—who took no count whatever of what might not happen to them after death. It is not obvious to me why the same point should not by and by be reached by the Gentiles.
    Thomas Henry Huxley (1825–95)

The history of any nation follows an undulatory course. In the trough of the wave we find more or less complete anarchy; but the crest is not more or less complete Utopia, but only, at best, a tolerably humane, partially free and fairly just society that invariably carries within itself the seeds of its own decadence.
    Aldous Huxley (1894–1963)
