Filip Topol

Filip Topol (born June 12, 1965, in Prague) is a Czech singer, songwriter, and pianist.

He is the younger brother of Jáchym Topol, the son of Josef Topol, and the grandson of Karel Schulz.

In the Czech Republic, he is best known as leader of the rock band Psí Vojáci (Dog Soldiers). He has been a member of the band since its beginnings in 1979, but he has also pursued a solo career.

Topol was trained playing the piano from a young age and introduced to the Czech intellectual and artistic resistance while still a child. He made his public début at age 12, at the first performance of the Plastic People of the Universe's Passion Play, at the private farm of Václav Havel.

His song "Žiletky" ("Razorblades") for Psí vojáci inspired a 1994 Czech film of the same name.
