Fiji Rugby Union - Domestic Competition

Domestic Competition

Fiji currently has a professional six team domestic competition, the Colonial Cup (similar in design to Super Rugby). Before this, Fiji had 12 Division One teams. Five teams were made up of the players from the 12 Division One teams, based on regional lines, with the aim of creating a "more competitive competition that leads on and provides a higher level of competitive domestic rugby".

The FRU also has developed a base pay for players at international level.

Domestic competitions include the Farebrother-Sullivan Cup, and a Domestic 7's tournament.

Famous quotes containing the words domestic and/or competition:

Hilary Clinton’s great sin was that she left the nicely wallpapered domestic sphere with a slam of the door, took up public life on her own, leaving big feminist footprints all over the place, and without so much as an apology.
    Patricia J. Williams (b. 1942)

Mothers seem to be in subtle competition with teachers. There is always an underlying fear that teachers will do a better job than they have done with their child.... But mostly mothers feel that their areas of competence are very much similar to those of the teacher. In fact they feel they know their child better than anyone else and that the teacher doesn’t possess any special field of authority or expertise.
