While promoting the album, Aguilera performed "Fighter" in a number of places. She performed the track on the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, in a medley with Dirrty. For the "Fighter" performance, Aguilera performed with Dave Navarro on guitar. On the Stripped World Tour, Aguilera performed the track after "Walk Away". The performance consists of Aguilera and her four dancers around the stage, while a video of someone preparing to a fight is shown. While promoting her fourth album "Back to Basics", the singer performed the track on Good Morning America. The song was part of the encore of her last tour "Back to Basics Tour". She also performed the track at the "MUZ-TV Awards", also singing "Ain't No Other Man", "Hurt" and "Candyman".

In 2010, while promoting her album "Bionic", Aguilera performed "Fighter", a medley of "Bionic" and "Not Myself Tonight" as well as "Beautiful" and "You Lost Me" on The Today Show. Aguilera also performed "Fighter", "You Lost Me", "Not Myself Tonight" along with a medley of "Genie in a Bottle"/"What a Girl Wants" on The Early Show on June 11, 2010. On May 26, 2010, American Idol season's female contestants — Lacey Brown, Didi Benami, Katie Stevens, Siobhan Magnus and Crystal Bowersox — performed a medley of her hits "Beautiful" and "Fighter," while Aguilera emerged from below the stage to help put the finishing flourishes on the latter, then, as the stage went dark, stepping out into a spotlight for "You Lost Me".

On April 16, 2012, the singer performed the track on the talent reality show The Voice, on which Aguilera is one of the judges and coaches. The "Team Christina" perform with their mentor and they were backed up by a high school choir. Aguilera strutted out on stage in a racy outfit singing ‘Hillbilly Bone’ and throwing a wad of cash at Blake Shelton. She then stripped off more clothing to sing "Fighter", flanked by a cadre of dancers. Ashley De La Rosa and Jesse Campbell rose from the crowd to trade lyrics on the verses. Lindsey Pavao and Chris Mann came out from behind the stage with the large Crenshaw chorus behind them. The last chorus found the multitude of voices playing background for Aguilera. A cover of the song was made by the TV series Glee on the episode Big Brother, aired on April 10, 2012. Darren Criss's character Blaine delivered a solo performance, as he finds an outlet to air his frustrations with Cooper Anderson's arrival. The version charted on the Digital Songs at number 58 and on the Canadian Hot 100 at number 85.

Famous quotes containing the words live, performances and/or covers:

... I want to live and be happy. I believe that we cannot be one or the other by pushing the absurd to all its consequences. I am like everyone. To feel liberated, I sometimes wish death on my loved ones, I covet the wives forbidden to me by the laws of family and friendship. To be logical, I should then kill or possess. But I judge that these vague ideas are unimportant. I everyone tried to put them to reality, we could neither live nor be happy.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)

At one of the later performances you asked why they called it a “miracle,”
Since nothing ever happened. That, of course, was the miracle
But you wanted to know why so much action took on so much life
And still managed to remain itself, aloof, smiling and courteous.
    John Ashbery (b. 1927)

Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.
    Bible: Hebrew, Proverbs 10:12.
