The Ethnography of Argentina makes this country, along with other areas of relatively modern settlement like Canada, Australia or the United States, a melting pot of different peoples. Most Argentines are descendents of colonial-era settlers from the 15th to the 18th centuries, and of the 19th and 20th century immigrants from Europe, with about 90% of the population being of European descent.
