Student Life
The mission of the Student Life Office is to provide activities, events, and services that help build and strengthen the DBU community and enhance the spiritual, social, and physical development of the students, faculty, and staff. Spiritual growth is emphasized through development of a maturing Christian faith that expresses itself in active commitment to Christ and his church. Social growth is emphasized through improved self-awareness and personal development and the interpersonal skills needed to function as responsible persons in a constantly changing society. Physical growth is emphasized through developing interest and skills in physical and recreational activities conducive to good health and physical fitness. DBU emphasizes Servant Leadership and offers unique opportunities to serve and minister in their chosen field of study.

Famous quotes containing the words student and/or life:
“When our kids are young, many of us rush out to buy a cute little baby book to record the meaningful events of our young childs life...But Ive often thought there should be a second book, one with room to record the moral milestones of our childs lives. There might be space to record dates she first shared or showed compassion or befriended a new student or thought of sending Grandma a get-well card or told the truth despite its cost.”
—Fred G. Gosman (20th century)
“Since the Greeks, Western man has believed that Being, all Being, is intelligible, that there is a reason for everything ... and that the cosmos is, finally, intelligible. The Oriental, on the other hand, has accepted his existence within a universe that would appear to be meaningless, to the rational Western mind, and has lived with this meaninglessness. Hence the artistic form that seems natural to the Oriental is one that is just as formless or formal, as irrational, as life itself.”
—William Barrett (b. 1913)
