Sugar Milling and Refining
CSR Sugar currently operates 7 sugar mills in Queensland. Victoria Mill and Macknade Mill are located in the Herbert River region, centered around the town of Ingham. The Burdekin Region is the home of 4 mills, namely Invicta Mill, Inkerman Mill, Kalamia Mill and Pioneer Mill. Plane Creek Mill is located at Sarina, south of Mackay. CSR also owns a 75% share in the Sugar Australia refineries in Melbourne and Mackay and in the Chelsea Sugar Refinery in Auckland.
CSR separated its sugar and energy businesses from its building products business in 2009, which resulted in the creation of Sucrogen as CSR's sugar and energy business.
Sucrogen was sold to Singapore company Wilmar International in 2010.

Famous quotes containing the words sugar, milling and/or refining:
“The sugar maple is remarkable for its clean ankle. The groves of these trees looked like vast forest sheds, their branches stopping short at a uniform height, four or five feet from the ground, like eaves, as if they had been trimmed by art, so that you could look under and through the whole grove with its leafy canopy, as under a tent whose curtain is raised.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“Shopping seemed to take an entirely too important place in womens lives. You never saw men milling around in mens departments. They made quick work of it. I used to wonder if shopping was a form of escape for women who had no worthwhile interests.”
—Mary Barnett Gilson (1877?)
“Involuntary mental hospitalization is like slavery. Refining the standards for commitment is like prettifying the slave plantations. The problem is not how to improve commitment, but how to abolish it.”
—Thomas Szasz (b. 1920)
