Continuum Health Partners - Contract Dispute With Aetna

Contract Dispute With Aetna

In April 2010, Aetna notified policyholders that it was in a contract dispute with Continuum Health Partners and that the contract would lapse as of June 5, 2010. The June 5th date passed and the contract lapsed. Continuum Health Partners provided subscribers with a form to request that Aetna retain their physicians for one year or until the policy period ended. On July 28th, 2010, Continuum Health Partners announced a new agreement with Aetna. Within this agreement, it was noted that the effective date would be retroactive to the April 5th, 2010 termination date.

Famous quotes containing the words contract and/or dispute:

The way in which men cling to old institutions after the life has departed out of them, and out of themselves, reminds me of those monkeys which cling by their tails—aye, whose tails contract about the limbs, even the dead limbs, of the forest, and they hang suspended beyond the hunter’s reach long after they are dead. It is of no use to argue with such men. They have not an apprehensive intellect, but merely, as it were a prehensile tail.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

The king said, -Divide the living boy in two; then give half to the one, and half to the other. But the woman whose son was alive said to the king -because compassion for her son burned within her - -Please, my lord, give her the living boy; certainly do not kill him! The other said, -It shall be neither mine nor yours; divide it. Then the king responded: -Give the first woman the living boy; do not kill him. She is his mother.
    Bible: Hebrew, 1 Kings. 3:25-37.

Solomon resolves a dispute between two women over a child. Solomon’s wisdom was proven by this story.
