Common Cause - Common Cause Magazine

From 1980 through 1996, Common Cause published Common Cause Magazine. The magazine, once termed "the little magazine that could," and described by the Washington Post as "a deeply researched, finger-in-your-eye sort of periodical", paralleled the work of Common Cause and focused on issues such as campaign finance and government accountability.

The magazine won more than two dozen journalism awards, including five from Investigative Reporters and Editors, as well as a National Magazine Award for General Excellence.

According to a Washington Post article, Common Cause was considering acquiring the Washington Monthly magazine. However, the National Governing Board voted against the Washington Monthly acquisition at its spring 2008 meeting.

Famous quotes containing the words common and/or magazine:

It is quite a common and vulgar thing among humans to understand, foresee, know and predict the troubles of others. But oh what a rare thing it is to predict, know, foresee and understand one’s own troubles.
    François Rabelais (1494–1553)

The world has already learned that woman has other virtues than meekness, patience, humility and endurance. She possesses courage above all fear, and a will that knows no obstacles; and when these are called forth by some great emergency, false modesty is trampled in the dust, and spheres are scattered to the winds.
    A. Holley, U.S. women’s magazine contributor. The Lily, p. 38 (May 1852)
