The Chicago Red Stars is an American professional soccer club based in downtown Chicago and currently playing most of their games in the suburb of Lisle, Illinois. The team was a founding member of Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) and participated in WPS from 2009-2010, when the Red Stars played their home games at Toyota Park. After leaving the WPS in December 2010 due to financial issues, the team reorganized and joined the Women's Premier Soccer League for the 2011 season, and in 2012, the team participated in the inaugural WPSL Elite League. The team now plays in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).
