Cerritos College

Cerritos College is a public comprehensive community college founded in 1955 located in Norwalk, California. It was named after Rancho Los Cerritos, a ranch that served prominently in the region in the 19th century. The college serves as part of the inspiration for the renaming of the neighboring city of Dairy Valley to Cerritos.

The college offers degrees and certificates in 87 areas of study in nine divisions. There is also a student-run radio station, WPMD (which, as of June 2012 is currently shut down because of budget cuts). It also provides a student-run newspaper, Talon Marks.

Famous quotes containing the word college:

If any proof were needed of the progress of the cause for which I have worked, it is here tonight. The presence on the stage of these college women, and in the audience of all those college girls who will some day be the nation’s greatest strength, will tell their own story to the world.
    Susan B. Anthony (1820–1906)
