Famous quotes containing the word offices:
“He has erected a multitude of new offices by a self-assumed power, & sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people & eat out their substance.”
—Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)
“The difficulty is no longer to find candidates for the offices, but offices for the candidates.”
—Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)
“He stood, a soldier, to the last right end,
A perfect patriot and a noble friend,
But most a virtuous son.
All offices were done
By him, so ample, full, and round
In weight in measure, number, sound,
As, though his age imperfect might appear,
His life was of humanity the sphere.”
—Ben Jonson (1572–1637)
