B'nai Moshe - "Inca Jews"

"Inca Jews"

While Inca Jews is not the community's official designation, it is popular outside the community and is derived from the fact that they can trace descent from Peru's indigenous Amerindian people, although mostly in the form of mestizos (persons of mixed Spanish and Amerindian descent, though none with any known Spanish Jewish ancestors) and the association of that country's native population with the Incas.

Famous quotes containing the word jews:

The Jews always complained, kvetching about false gods, and erected the
biggest false God, Jehovah, in middle of western civilization.
    Allen Ginsberg (b. 1926)

... the histories of Blacks and Jews in bondage and out of bondage, have been blood histories pursued through our kindred searchings for self-determination. Let this blood be a stain of honor that we share. Let us not now become enemies to ourselves and to each other.
    June Jordan (b. 1936)
