French Foreign Minister
After the election of Nicolas Sarkozy in 2007, Kouchner was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs in François Fillon's government, even though Kouchner supported Sarkozy's Socialist rival Ségolène Royal during the campaign. He has since been expelled from the Socialist Party for his acceptance of the post. He was dismissed in the November 2010 Fillon cabinet reshuffle.

“In comparison to the French Revolution, the American Revolution has come to seem a parochial and rather dull event. This, despite the fact that the American Revolution was successfulrealizing the purposes of the revolutionaries and establishing a durable political regimewhile the French Revolution was a resounding failure, devouring its own children and leading to an imperial despotism, followed by an eventual restoration of the monarchy.”

Its just that I cant see how any woman can find time to do to herself all the things that must apparently be done to make herself beautiful and, having once done them, how anyone without the strength of mind of a foreign missionary can keep up such a regime.”
—Cornelia Otis Skinner (19011979)
“Just let him be minister if thats what he desires, but without his brother and his brother-in-law.”
—Franz Grillparzer (17911872)
