All undergraduate applicants and transferring students are expected to pass BAU's English Language admission exam with a minimum score of 70%. However, applicants who have passed a TOEFL Exam with a minimum score of 500 or IELTS with a minimum score of 6.5 or have successfully completed the General Certificate of Education (GCE) program are exempted from this English Language admission exam. Similarly, transferring students who have completed a minimum of two years at an institution where the language of instruction is English are exempted from BAU's English Language admission exam.

Famous quotes containing the words english language, english and/or language:

He is, I think, already pondering a magisterial project: that of buggering the English language, the ultimate revenge of the colonialised.
    Angela Carter (1940–1992)

“Mustn’t grumble” was the most English of expressions. English patience was mingled inertia and despair. What was the use? But Americans did nothing but grumble! Americans also boasted. “I do some pretty incredible things” was not an English expression. “I’m fairly keen” was not American. Americans were showoffs—it was part of our innocence—we often fell on our faces; the English seldom showed off, so they seldom looked like fools.
    Paul Theroux (b. 1941)

A language does not become fixed. The human intellect is always on the march, or, if you prefer, in movement, and languages with it.
    Victor Hugo (1802–1885)
