Barry Stanton - Present

Present

Contrary to many poorly researched articles, Barry has never left the music industry. He continued to play shows Australia wide from the time he began in 1959 until 2006 when he took a well-deserved break from showbiz to spend time with his grandchildren. But once a rocker always a rocker, and after only two years of retirement Barry was talked into doing a comeback concert in Melbourne playing to a sold-out crowd. The 'Big Boy of Rock' proved he still has what it takes to get the crowd moving.

Famous quotes containing the word present:

The present century has not dealt kindly with the farmer. His legends are all but obsolete, and his beliefs have been pared away by the professors at colleges of agriculture. Even the farm- bred bards who twang guitars before radio microphones prefer “I’m Headin’ for the Last Roundup” to “Turkey in the Straw” or “Father Put the Cows Away.”
—For the State of Kansas, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

The present necessarily betrays the past.
    Mason Cooley (b. 1927)

Politics is still the man’s game. The women are allowed to do the chores, the dirty work, and now and then—but only occasionally—one is present at some secret conference or other. But it’s not the rule. They can go out and get the vote, if they can and will; they can collect money, they can be grateful for being permitted to work. But that is all.
    Mary Roberts Rinehart (1876–1958)
