Australian Reptile Park

The Australian Reptile Park is located at Somersby on the Central Coast, New South Wales in Australia. It is about 50 kilometres (31 mi) (a one hour drive) North of Sydney, and is just off the Sydney-Newcastle Freeway. The park is home to a variety of reptiles, including snakes, lizards and crocodiles, as well as other Australian animals, such as kangaroos, cassowaries and Tasmanian devils.

The park is heavily involved in snake and spider venom collection for use in the production of Antivenom and is credited for saving the lives of thousands. It is an institutional member of the Zoo and Aquarium Association (ZAA).

Famous quotes containing the words australian, reptile and/or park:

The Australian mind, I can state with authority, is easily boggled.
    Charles Osborne (b. 1927)

When I woke, the town spoke.
Birds and clocks and cross bells
    Dinned aside the coiling crowd,
The reptile profligates in a flame,
    Spoilers and pokers of sleep....
    Dylan Thomas (1914–1953)

The label of liberalism is hardly a sentence to public igominy: otherwise Bruce Springsteen would still be rehabilitating used Cadillacs in Asbury Park and Jane Fonda, for all we know, would be just another overweight housewife.
    Barbara Ehrenreich (b. 1941)
