Aims
ANC training is nautical in nature and includes waterborne activities. Activities can include, but are not limited to, navigation, communications, first aid, drill, maritime history, firearms proficiency and adventurous training. The ANC also aims to achieve the following with its training program:
- develop an interest in the Navy and its tradition;
- encourage cadets to continue military or community service;
- give cadets a foundation of military knowledge and discipline;
- develop the qualities of leadership, self-discipline, self-reliance and initiative; and
- provide training that may later assist in achieving competencies required during Navy induction training.

Famous quotes containing the word aims:
“Ideally, advertising aims at the goal of a programmed harmony among all human impulses and aspirations and endeavors. Using handicraft methods, it stretches out toward the ultimate electronic goal of a collective consciousness.”
—Marshall McLuhan (19111980)
“All who strive to live for something beyond mere selfish aims find their capacities for doing good very inadequate to their aspirations. They do so much less than they want to do, and so much less than they, at the outset, expected to do, that their lives, viewed retrospectively, inevitably look like failure.”
—Lydia M. Child (18021880)
“We are often reminded that if there were bestowed on us the wealth of Crsus, our aims must still be the same, and our means essentially the same.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
