Arthur Hill High School has won several State, Regional, and District championships in primarily Boys' Basketball and Football. The most recent State Boys' Basketball Championships were in 2006 and 1999.
Current NBA player Jason Richardson of the Orlando Magic, winner of two NBA Slam Dunk titles, is an alumnus of Arthur Hill, as is former Drake University point guard Adam Emmenecker, who went from three-year walk-on to Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year in his final season in 2008. Other notable Arthur Hill graduates include Theodore Roethke, awarded the 1954 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry, and current Oakland Athletics pitching coach Curt Young.
The 1973 Arthur Hill Lumberjack football team, coached by George Ihler, is still the only Class A high school football team in Michigan state high school history to complete a season untied, undefeated and unscored upon and outscoring it's opponents 443-0. It was the first Class A Football Team to do so since 1933. The Class C Charlevoix Red Rayders also completed a season untied, undeafeted and unscored upon in 1958. In addition to the 1958 seasons accomplishments, the Red Rayders had an undeafeted season in 1959 only allowing 19 total points from their opponents. http://michigan-football.com/f/charvoix.htmThe scores were as follows:
