Famous quotes containing the words mission, statement and/or alpha:
“The mission of men there seems to be, like so many busy demons, to drive the forest all out of the country, from every solitary beaver swamp and mountain-side, as soon as possible.”
—Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
“Truth is used to vitalize a statement rather than devitalize it. Truth implies more than a simple statement of fact. “I don’t have any whisky,” may be a fact but it is not a truth.”
—William Burroughs (b. 1914)
“Imagination is a valuable asset in business and she has a sister, Understanding, who also serves. —Alice Foote MacDougall (1867–1945)
