Agencies Of The Federally Administered Tribal Areas
The Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) (Pashto: وسطي قبایلي سیمې، منځنۍ پښتونخوا; Urdu: قبائلی علاقہ جات) is a semi-autonomous tribal region in the northwest of Pakistan, lying between Afghanistan's provinces of Kunar, Nangarhar, Paktia, Khost and Paktika to the west and north, and the Pakistani provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the east and Balochistan to the south. The Federally Administered Tribal Areas comprise seven agencies (tribal districts) and six frontier regions. The territory is almost exclusively inhabited by Pashtun tribes, who also live in the neighboring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and eastern Afghanistan and are Muslims by faith. The territory is governed through the Frontier Crimes Regulations.
