The Abaris Golden Arrow is a homebuilt civil utility aircraft manufactured in kit form. It is an unusually large aircraft for its type, able to seat six people (including the pilot) and, also unusually in a homebuilt plane, powered by a turboprop engine.
The Golden Arrow is of conventional monoplane configuration, with retractable tricycle undercarriage and a T-tail. It is largely of composite construction.
As of 2003, the first aircraft was not yet complete. As of 26 January 2008, the official Abaris Aircraft website does not list any progress on the aircraft.
The craft derives its name from a legendary arrow, carried by the ancient Greek sage Abaris the Hyperborean. The arrow, given to Abaris by the sun-god Apollo, conferred upon its bearer the power of flight.

Famous quotes containing the words golden and/or arrow:
“Fasten your hair with a golden pin,
And bind up every wandering tress;
I bade my heart build these poor rhymes:
It worked at them, day out, day in,
Building a sorrowful loveliness
Out of the battles of old times.”
—William Butler Yeats (18651939)
“It is easy to dodge a spear in the daylight, but it is difficult to avoid an arrow in the dark.”
—Chinese proverb.
