2019 Rugby World Cup

The 2019 Rugby World Cup is scheduled to be the ninth edition of the Rugby World Cup. At a special IRB meeting held in Dublin on 28 July 2009, Japan was announced as the host for the competition. This will be the first time the tournament is to be held in Asia, and also the first time that the event will be hosted by a nation outside the traditional top tier of the sport. Hong Kong and Singapore are expected to host some of the matches.
