New Stadiums
Two FBS teams opened new stadiums on September 12:
- Akron opened InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field against Morgan State, winning 41–0.
- Minnesota christened their new TCF Bank Stadium with a win, defeating Air Force 20–13.
