2006 Philadelphia Wings Season

The Philadelphia Wings are a lacrosse team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). The 2006 season was the 20th in franchise history.

Other than the emergence of talented rookie Sean Greenhalgh, the 2006 season was largely forgettable for the Wings, who finished 8-8 and out of the playoffs for a fourth straight year.

Famous quotes containing the words philadelphia, wings and/or season:

    I’d like to see Paris before I die. Philadelphia will do.
    Mae West, U.S. screenwriter, W.C. Fields, and Edward Cline. Cuthbert Twillie (W.C. Fields)

    Girls blush, sometimes, because they are alive,
    Half wishing they were dead to save the shame.
    The sudden blush devours them, neck and brow;
    They have drawn too near the fire of life, like gnats,
    And flare up bodily, wings and all. What then?
    Who’s sorry for a gnat ... or girl?
    Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806–1861)

    To the American People:MChristmas is not a time or a season but a state of mind. To cherish peace and good will, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas. If we think on these things, there will be born in us a Savior and over us will shine a star sending its gleam of hope to the world.
    Calvin Coolidge (1872–1933)
