1992 Minnesota Twins Season

Coming off a World Series victory, the 1992 Minnesota Twins continued the team's winning spree. The team finished in second place to Oakland Athletics and did not make it to the postseason. This would be the team's last winning season until 2001. On September 27, Kelly won his 523rd game as Twins manager, more than any other skipper in team history.

Famous quotes containing the words twins and/or season:

If twins are believed to be less intelligent as a class than single-born children, it is not surprising that many times they are also seen as ripe for social and academic problems in school. No one knows the extent to which these kind of attitudes affect the behavior of multiples in school, and virtually nothing is known from a research point of view about social behavior of twins over the age of six or seven, because this hasn’t been studied either.
    Pamela Patrick Novotny (20th century)

When we reached the lake, about half past eight in the evening, it was still steadily raining, and harder than before; and, in that fresh, cool atmosphere, the hylodes were peeping and the toads ringing about the lake universally, as in the spring with us. It was as if the season had revolved backward two or three months, or I had arrived at the abode of perpetual spring.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
