Solomon Islands Rain Forests

The Solomon Islands rain forests are a terrestrial ecoregion which includes most of the Solomon Islands (except the Santa Cruz Islands) and the islands of Bougainville and Buka, which are part of Papua New Guinea. The Santa Cruz Islands, which lie to the east of the Solomons, are part of the Vanuatu rain forests ecoregion, together with the neighboring archipelago of Vanuatu. Both ecoregions are part of the Australasia ecozone, which also includes the neighboring Bismarck Archipelago and New Guinea, as well as New Caledonia, Australia and New Zealand.

The Solomon Islands rain forests are a Tropical and subtropical moist broadleaf forests ecoregion, also known as a tropical rainforest.

The rainforest has been threatened to be cut down too by the Solomon government to get more land for farming, roads etc..
