Maximus (Hellenised as Maximos) is the Latin term for "greatest" or "largest". In this connection it is used to refer to:

  • Circus Maximus (disambiguation)
  • Pontifex Maximus, the highest priest of the ancient Roman College of Pontiffs

It was also a common name.
