Kasautii Zindagii Kay (English: The Test of Life) was a most popular and awarded show that aired on Star Plus from 2001 to 2008. KZK was one of the best Indian Show and is still popular. The show ranked at no# 3 among Star Plus' best shows after Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi & Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. The show was the GR8! Competitor of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi & Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. The show won many awards for Best Series and its direction. The show gave outstanding TAM Ratings to the channel. It was the 2nd most watched Series. The Show was also SPL Honoured for 3 to 4 times. The show ranked at no. 3 among Indian TV Serials after Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi and Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and in front of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Balika Vadhu. It was the Balaji Telefilms' 3rd longest serial. The show premiered on 29th Oct, 2001 and concluded on 28 Feb, 2008. The show was watched with GR8! interest not only in India but also in Pakistan, Sycaurse, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Australia and Dubai etc. etc. The role of Cezanne Khan as Anurag Basu, Shweta Tiwari as Prerna Bajaj, Ronit Roy as Rishab Bajaj and Urvashi Dholakia as Komolika Basu also gave a lot of popularity to the show. Kasautii was also the show with a social message who gives a nice message in the story of Prem - Prerna that how Prerna changes her son. The Non-Hindi knowing and Non-Asian population was also able to watch the show as it was translated into many eastern and western languages by the producer of the show, Ekta Kapoor. It was not recorded in Guinness book of world records due to ekta-Guinness rivalry over kyunki saas... Totalling 1400 Episodes, the show is India's fifth largest running Indian Series after C.I.D., Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii and Kumkum. Kasautii's episode of 20 April 2007 watch with a GR8! interest and broke all records and was watched with ratings of 9.8 when Sampada kills Bajaj and Prerna kills Anuraag.
