Soane published several books related to architecture and an autobiography:

- Designs for Public and Private Buildings, 1828
- Descriptions of the House and Museum Lincoln's Inn Fields, editions: 1830, 1832 and 1835–6
- Memoirs of the Professional Life of an Architect, 1835
Additionally the director of the Soane Museum Arthur T. Bolton in 1929, edited and published Soane's twelve Royal Academy lectures as:
