International Studies - Different Countries' Approaches - United Kingdom

United Kingdom

International Studies is often related to or attached to the study in International Relations. At the University of Oxford, the Centre for International Studies ‘exists to promote and advance research in International Relations’. In this sense the use of the term ‘International Studies’ differs to that of the Australian use if the term in that it is tied to the discipline of International Relations, rather than addressing them as separate entities. The Institute of Development Studies (IDS)] based in Sussex, is a leading global charity for international development research, teaching and communications.

Famous quotes containing the words united and/or kingdom:

The parallel between antifeminism and race prejudice is striking. The same underlying motives appear to be at work, namely fear, jealousy, feelings of insecurity, fear of economic competition, guilt feelings, and the like. Many of the leaders of the feminist movement in the nineteenth-century United States clearly understood the similarity of the motives at work in antifeminism and race discrimination and associated themselves with the anti slavery movement.
    Ashley Montagu (b. 1905)

Our nada who art in nada, nada be thy name thy kingdom nada thy will be nada in nada as it is in nada. Give us this nada our daily nada and nada us our nada as we nada our nadas and nada us not into nada but deliver us from nada; pues nada. Hail nothing full of nothing, nothing is with thee.
    Ernest Hemingway (1899–1961)
