Falls Festival

Falls Festival

The Falls Music & Arts Festival (commonly known as Falls) is a music festival held annually in Lorne, Victoria, and Marion Bay, Tasmania, Australia, on New Year's Eve. While the festival is best known for contemporary music performances, dance, comedy, theatre, circus, cabaret, as well as other art forms, are also featured at the event. Due to the length of the event, people bring a tent and camp out at the event; both locations have nearby beaches. Many artists playing at the Falls Festival are traditionally of the blues & roots genre, however it is not exclusively of this style, with rock, hip hop and electronic style acts also playing.

Famous quotes containing the words falls and/or festival:

If thou must love me, let it be for nought
Except for love’s sake only. Do not say
“I love her for her smile—her look—her way
Of speaking gently,—for a trick of thought
That falls in well with mine, and certes brought
A sense of pleasant ease on such a day”—
    Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1806–1861)

Sabbath. A weekly festival having its origin in the fact that God made the world in six days and was arrested on the seventh.
    Ambrose Bierce (1842–1914)
