Emergency Service Response Codes

Emergency Service Response Codes

The emergency services in various countries use systems of response codes to categorize their responses to reported events. One of the best known is the Code 3 Response, which is used in several countries, particularly the United States, to describe a mode of response for an emergency vehicle responding to a call. It is commonly used to mean "use lights and siren."

Famous quotes containing the words emergency, service, response and/or codes:

In this country, you never pull the emergency brake, even when there is an emergency. It is imperative that the trains run on schedule.

The psalm, the sorrow, and the simple praise
Of one whose promised thoughts of other days
Were such as ours, but now wholly destroyed,
The service record of his youth wiped out,
His dream dispersed by shot, must disappear.
    Karl Shapiro (b. 1913)

There are situations in life to which the only satisfactory response is a physically violent one. If you don’t make that response, you continually relive the unresolved situation over and over in your life.
    Russell Hoban (b. 1925)

I cannot help thinking that the menace of Hell makes as many devils as the severe penal codes of inhuman humanity make villains.
    George Gordon Noel Byron (1788–1824)
