Crop Circle - History

History

The concept of crop circles began with the original 1970s hoaxes by Bower and Chorley. They were inspired by the Tully "saucer nest" case in Australia, which can be taken as an early case of crop circles. There are pre-1970s reports of crop circles, but they were always simple circles, which could have been caused by whirlwinds.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

I am ashamed to see what a shallow village tale our so-called History is. How many times must we say Rome, and Paris, and Constantinople! What does Rome know of rat and lizard? What are Olympiads and Consulates to these neighboring systems of being? Nay, what food or experience or succor have they for the Esquimaux seal-hunter, or the Kanaka in his canoe, for the fisherman, the stevedore, the porter?
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

All history becomes subjective; in other words there is properly no history, only biography.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

Hence poetry is something more philosophic and of graver import than history, since its statements are rather of the nature of universals, whereas those of history are singulars.
    Aristotle (384–322 B.C.)
