Famous quotes containing the words education, early and/or life:

We have not been fair with the Negro and his education. He has not had adequate or ample education to permit him to qualify for many jobs that are open to him.
    Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)

Pray be always in motion. Early in the morning go and see things; and the rest of the day go and see people. If you stay but a week at a place, and that an insignificant one, see, however, all that is to be seen there; know as many people, and get into as many houses as ever you can.
Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (1694–1773)

I began to reflect upon life rather seriously for a girl of twelve or thirteen. What was I here for? What could I make of myself? Must I submit to be carried along with the current, and do just what everybody else did?
    Lucy Larcom (1824–1893)
