Budapest Metro

The Budapest Metro (Hungarian: Budapesti metrĂ³) is the rapid transit system in the Hungarian capital Budapest. It is the fourth oldest underground railway system in the world, only the London Underground, 1863, Athens Metro, 1869, and the Mersey Railway at Liverpool, 1886, pre-dates the railway. Its iconic Line 1, dating from 1896, was declared a World Heritage Site in 2002.
