The Battle of Guanzhong (關中攻防戰) was a battle in the Taiping Revolution that took place in November 1861 – 1863. When Taiping's Western Army lost Wuhan, they lost their connection with their capital at Nanjing. The Western Army was in desperate need of supplies, so former Western Army Commander Chen Yucheng decided to resupply at Guanzhong.
Some of the soldiers in his army were from the Nien Rebellion, so he decided not to provide them with supplies as he was uncertain of their loyalties.
