After Battle of Anqing

The Battle of Anqing was miserable and intense, similar to the Battle of Stalingrad, and ended on September 5, 1861. The loss severely affected the Western Army's morale, and they lost 90,000 men in terms of their strength.

Chen Yucheng still believed that they could recover Anqing in a short time, but his generals did not believe that he could do it. It could explain why Chen Yucheng stayed in Anhui as the army's tail.
