Zord
Zords are fictional colossal mechanical or bio-mechanical robotic vehicles that appear in the Power Rangers media franchise. When the antagonists' monsters grow to incredible sizes, usually the only way the Power Rangers can fight them is by summoning and piloting these robots. Usually this will happen towards the end of every episode.
The Zords are often in the shape of animals - sometimes living creatures, sometimes dinosaurs and sometimes mythical beings - as well as vehicles. When the individual Zords are inadequate for the task, they can join together into a more powerful, humanoid robot called a Megazord.
Often, the Rangers that appear later in the series have a Zord that becomes its own Megazord. Examples include the Mega Winger and the Solar Streak Megazord. The White Ranger from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers had the White Tigerzord which could transform into a Megazord-sized Warrior Mode, and the Lunar Wolf Ranger had his own multiple Zord Megazord called the Predazord.
Every season of Power Rangers from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers onwards saw a new set of Zords being deployed by the current Power Rangers. Each set is based on the Mecha from the connected Super Sentai series. This change of Zords occurred even before the yearly costume change to match the equivalent Super Sentai series. Of special note, the term 'Zord' was used in the Super Sentai Mirai Sentai Timeranger for a Mecha in the control of the team's enemy and in Tokumei Sentai Gobusters for Mechas in control of the team and the enemy.
