Zach Feuer Gallery - History

History

The Zach Feuer Gallery was founded in 2000 as the LFL Gallery, by Nick Lawrence, Russell LaMontagne and Zach Feuer. It was originally located on a fourth floor space on 26th Street. In 2002, the gallery moved to a first floor space on 24th Street, briefly sharing space with an art book gallery owned by one of the partners. In 2004, Zach Feuer purchased the gallery from his partners and changed the gallery name to "Zach Feuer Gallery". The gallery was severely damaged by flooding caused by Hurricane Sandy, with about 98% of the gallery's inventory destroyed.

Some of the artists represented by Zach Feuer Gallery are Phoebe Washburn, Nathalie Djurberg, Stuart Hawkins, Johannes Vanderbeek, Sister Corita Kent, Tamy Ben Tor, Anton Henning, Dana Schutz, and Mark Flood. Zach Feuer Gallery is a co-founder of the New Art Dealers Alliance.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

It is true that this man was nothing but an elemental force in motion, directed and rendered more effective by extreme cunning and by a relentless tactical clairvoyance .... Hitler was history in its purest form.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)

the future is simply nothing at all. Nothing has happened to the present by becoming past except that fresh slices of existence have been added to the total history of the world. The past is thus as real as the present.
    Charlie Dunbar Broad (1887–1971)

All objects, all phases of culture are alive. They have voices. They speak of their history and interrelatedness. And they are all talking at once!
    Camille Paglia (b. 1947)
