Famous quotes containing the words walked in and/or walked:

    I thought of Chatterton, the marvellous boy,
    The sleepless soul that perished in his pride;
    Of him who walked in glory and in joy
    Following his plough, along the mountain side:
    By our own spirits are we deified:
    We poets in our youth begin in gladness;
    But thereof come in the end despondency and madness.
    William Wordsworth (1770–1850)

    What thoughts I have of you tonight, Walt Whitman, for I walked down the sidestreets under the trees with a headache self-conscious looking at the full moon. In my hungry fatigue, and shopping for images, I went into the neon fruit supermarket, dreaming of your enumerations!
    Allen Ginsberg (b. 1926)
